Happy Halloween

If I celebrated Halloween this year I would have donned the cat version of this dog outfit Amanda Seyfried rocked. That would be meowsome and oh so warm and cuddly. So bummed I had to work this whole weekend but funny story time. My mom and dad went and bought enough (good) Halloween candy to make a kid a diabetic (when I say good I mean chocolate - Snickers, Reeses, Twix, etc. - not the twisters, bottle caps, and hot tamales I tried to unsuccessfully trade off as a child). I come home tonight to trick-or-treaters on the street and complete darkness at our house. No outside lights on. No inside lights on. Not even the lights we USUALLY have on are lit up in any way, shape or form. Fuckin' pitch black with me using my iphone as a flashlight. I go inside and find the candy bowl sitting inside the door, as if we are ready to hand out treats when our house looks completely abandoned. What is wrong with this picture??? I literally laughed out loud. Halloween has become my family's excuse to buy and eat mass quantities of chocolate that we never plan on handing out in the first place. I told my mother about how ironic this all was and have never seen her laugh harder in my life. And she says, in between laughing and eating a KitKat bar, "Michelle, the candy is for the kids, it's scary when it's dark". Mom, totally busted you!!!

Sleepy Saturday Sweaters

So glad to have today off, I have been doing some much needed relaxing (been in bed since I woke up at 10:00am, don't judge even though I know you won't). If I didn't have a few days like this amongst the hectic weeks I don't know where my head would be (in the clouds over China?). Anywho... lazy Saturdays are synonymous with comfortable clothes (Mom: WHAT are you wearing? Me: Well what, it's COMFORTABLE. I was wearing my warmest striped sweater, yoga pants, knee high socks over the pants, purple beanie and leopard fleece scarf with no plans of leaving the house). What is better than a perfect fall sweater on those days you just want to gel? These are a few of my favorite trends, especially the striped and oversized flavors. I am seriously attached to anything striped these days and need to slap myself when heading into Forever 21. True story. Hope you are all having a good Saturday! Toodles.

P.S. Happy Birthday to my little brother who turns 17(?) today. I better run to CVS and buy him a razor.

DMV Culture

So, I went to the DMV to renew my license today. I have to do it before my birthday November 8th and I wanted a new photo because I am sick of the prolonged double-take I get at 21+ establishments (security man - twenty something with overly spiked hair - looks at me, looks down, looks at me, looks down, asks the other security man for his unqualified opinion, looks at me, asks me to smile, lets me in and considers it a favor). Apparently society wants everyone to look like drones in their pictures because the man taking the photo instructed me to pose like this:

Guess you can't get everything you want. But I kind of had fun... met a clown, got a free diet pepsi, talked to a lady about how to build my own cat tree and got an offer to work at the Hot Dog on a Stick corporate office. Department of Motor Vehicles, you aren't that attractive but I like you. Same time next week?

P.S. I got my hairs cut yesterday. Two inches felt like a foot but if you think about it, that hair was probably 10+ years old. Yeah. I'm okay with saying goodbye.

Neon Pinks

It's the little changes that make everthing so much better... I've been living in a uniform of comfy clothes. Ridiculously comfortable. Got a pedicure (emerald green is out, neon pink is in!) I'm having an okay time with work and school (17 units + externship, exhaustion personified) and such a great time with a few choice people, especially Becca. I've started doing my hair again, alas not cooking just yet - all I've been eating is super bland and salted food, I've had chicken and rice (with ketchup of course) for dinner about a million times over the past few weeks. Still nummy though. I hope everyone is having a good time too, ta-ta.

Things have been hectic lately but who am I kidding, that has been me since school began and will be me until it ends December 15th (I am quantifying it, make me feel better). I had clinical from 7a-3p today and then had to run more school errands (when I wanted to go home and snuggle). Because I am in my last semester of nursing school, I am filling out mad forms for my state license and getting ready to apply to an array of new graduate RN programs. I am applying to any California hospital with a new grad residency in the Intensive Care Unit so who knows where I will end up! Los Angeles? San Fran? Bakersfield? (Let's hope not). Anywho... taking a break from the fun (torture) and meeting a friend for Margarita Monday. Is that what they call it? I haven't been out on a Monday in awhile... or ever. Haha. Till next time!
